Depends on how the backside of those grilles is shaped, if the light can sit nicely in it or not. I haven't seen an '81/82 done that way but here's a picture of the backside of my current '85-up grille. It's a base model grille for a single headlight truck that would've had the large parking lamps under the headlights, someone before me made their own mounts for the '85-up inboard parking lights. Looks like they just took some random plastic for the upper and ran self tappers in and then glued on the lower tab mount. Idk who or when they did it, a buddy got it on a truck he traded for and I traded him a Silverado grille for this one

Once installed, you can't tell it's not made that way. I've had this one in the truck for ~3yrs and probably 30-40k miles and it's still holding strong
