boom! its in there! what a pita! my neck is killing me too! i also tried to fit the front shaft and got it bolted nut it doesnt look like there will be much room for travel as the shaft seems to be about 1'' from being bottomed out, or does it flex outward? i have no clue if its the right one or not, i think the guy i got it from said it was on a burban, are they longer on a burban? im reaslly hoping i dont need to get another front shaft

Upward movement moves the axle back. You should find out what it costs to take an inch or 2 out of it at a driveline shop, it may be cheaper than getting another driveshaft. That is if the one you have is a good one.

ok thanks... so not good if it can only travel back an inch, should be more like 2 or 3 then.

next problem is getting the shifter back together, i took it apart and didnt take pics because my hands were so greasy... does anyone know the name of the thread where someone shows how to reassemble it? thanks

stock np203 shifter, it wasnt shifting very smooth, i took it apart and sanded all the rust and crap off and now im lost on reassembly, ive been searching for hours and i cant seem to find a diagram on it...

everyone says build a double stick, but i just want to use this one, if it ever goes back together

Yup and maybe steering stuff cause you dont want it to bind or cut your steering radius down more then it already is with these trucks

I cant find any diagram or how-to for reassembling the stock shifter. This is one of those situations where you learn to take pics as you disassemble or it may get thrown in the trash because there just isnt any literature out there about it. I did find one for doing the twin stick though but if you have the 2nd shifter you wouldnt need to twin stick lol you could just install the 2nd one.

Ohhh, that sux. I know nothing about that shifter. Kinda looks a bit complicated compared to an NP205 or 208 shifter.

i found a guy on Cl selling the steering link, ubolts and spring plate for $20, he said it was his old stuff from his 4'' lift (which is what my springs i have sitting in the garage are supposed to be) sounds like a deal to me, what do you think?
