Lol, HRPC's got me pegged

You would be surprised what you can do with a small lift, 33's and a locker in the rear. Then later on you can pickup a beaten K5 to go hog wild on, while you still have your nice but capable truck.

the only thing is a locker in the rear would affect on road performance, unless i get a selectable locker. what kind of selectable locker would be the cheapest?

Other than some popping here and there, it shouldn't hurt your street driving. That's assuming you don't have to deal with snow/ice. Detroit Truetrac is supposed to be a smooth operator.

There is E lockers and Air Locker. Hold your ass cheeks real tight though, cuz your about to get it right up the..... They aren't cheap. I'd just do an LSD unit before I'd do a selectable locker. Of course someone gives you an ARB locker for helping them pull some parts and scrapping a truck, you damn sure use it.

It's for a 10-bolt car axle you cant use it.

Sure you can, the car 8.5 and the truck 8.5 are the same axle. It's the 12 bolt that has a car and truck version.

And as for converting to 30 spline, you just need the carrier/locker and 30 spline axles (mid '88 and up).

Changing axle shafts isn't a big deal, you have to remove them to install the locker anyway.

Run from that junk !!! You know how he has used Gov Loks? Cuz they are junk, people know they are junk, and they come in getting a different LSD or Locker system and then he has this junk to sell. Avoid it. You're better off with a lunchbox over that ****. Granted, I know of some gov locks that have last many years, but I'll assure you, the drivers weren't rough on them. For driving 30-40 mph in snow they are OK, for pulling a boat up a boat ramp they are good. Past that, forget it.

well my dad just gave me his c20 and it has a 14 bolt sf with the g80 code in it.... it has the same axle ratio as my truck. is it worth putting in? cuz it costs me a grand total of 0 dollars to do that. and the 14 bolt gov lok should be better anyway than a 10 bolt? and if it smashes i could just get a good posi for it then

I got a 14SF from a stock truck and when I pulled the cover I found 1 exploded Gov-Bomb and 1 chipped ring gear.

Neener Neener, I got 2 14 bolt SF 9.5 4.10 ratio axles with open diffs just waiting for Powertraxx No Slips. Bad thing is, that G80 Gov Bomb has to have an Open carrier swap for any lunchbox type locker unit. I really wanted to convert one of them to 6 lug add the Powertraxx and run with this ARB air locker I have. Seems to be hell to convert a Square 14b SF to 6 lug though.
