Here's an in-the-cab perspective of the exhaust. I recorded this leaving work last night. Yes, it's vertical since phone was in dash cradle and it's a night recording; so, not much to see. Just see with your ears, lol.

mine also shifted in and out of overdrive all the time on the interstate.

Mine doesn't, only when I give enough pedal. Sometimes it won't do it at all. Probably needs a new TV cable.

but on your exhaust you can move your muffler to infront of the axle and run the tail pipes out under the rear bumper and that will get it much more quiet.

Probably could if the kit I bought had fit better. All of it is made by Flotech. Although, when I installed it a couple years, the weather was getting stormy and I was rushing to get it done. I'll need new headers in another couple years, I'll probably get a better quality setup then. Before I installed the turnouts, the cabin drone was horrible and the tone range was a lot higher. These turnouts have given the exhaust note a deeper tone and it no longer drones. I like the tone, just wish I had taken more time to install the exhaust better. I might try to correct it, but the clamps are probably rust-welded together by now.

I had an 85 with a 355 and Flowmaster 40's. It sounded good, but I like the raspy sound of glasspacks. The Purple Hornies have a real good sound to them, except for the rattle at idle.

jones builds one that sounds like a cross between a flowmaster and a glasspack.

You probably had a real tall rear end gear ratio. If you'd have had 3.42's or 3.73's it wouldn't have been in and out of OD so much.
