:patriot:recently purchased an 83 k10 pickup. I was told it had a mid 70's built 350 with edelbrock carb. and air breather and hedman headers. some of the emissions equipment has been removed. Can all of the emissions components be removed without causing any damage. new to this so any information will be great.

the hoses go to tons of things, if you have a th400 or 350 auto you need one to it, if you have power brakes you need one going to the booster, you also have one going to the dist for vac. adv. Might be some others I can't think of right off.

When you remove the smog crap you just buy a vac. cap assortment and plug them off.

Welcome to GMSB Ingram. Sounds to me a lot of the emmisions has already been removed if it has headers, air breather and Eddy carb. What else are you taking off???

removed all of the vacuum lines except for the distributor. tied it in to the supply from the manifold. looks a lot cleaner with the canister and all of the jumbled up vacuum lines gone. also replaced the waterneck with a chrome one to delete the lined that went to the switch that was on the original waterneck. will be doing more in the near future. post some pics soon.

I hope if you had one going to the trans(only if you have a th350 or 400) and if you have power brakes you left those lines or else stuff aint gonna work.

it's personal prefference I always use manual choke but it's up to you, and exactly as you said the electric could fail and not work. I would do manual choke, only thing to go bad is the cable basically, and you can fully control it manually to what you want or need.

go to your local parts store, tell them the year, make and model and NO smog or air pump, they'll get you the right size, even the know nothing idiots around here can handle that job.
