Thinkin about getting a 454 complete project engine thats locked up for $175.
That would be a great project/write up if you got the cash to spare or the time.

My brother's got the flatbed trailer ready for me to use in the morning to pick this up. :High 5:

I won't be able to sleep tonight, lol.

Question for yinz guyz, do I need to jack the trans at all or can it hang under there and be balanced out by the transfer case when I swap this? Pain in the ass working around a jack under there, anybody know?

I always use a jack, but only when it's loose from the block, as for removing torque converter bolts and such, I leave it alone, but when it comes to pulling the bellhousing bolts I take out the ones up top first with it all together, and try to save the bottom 2 or 4 for last, then I place a jack under the pan just so it doesn't fall.

Ok, I guess I'll have to do that then. The bell housing bolts on the bottom will be the last thing I disconnect under there then stick a jack under it. Somehting else I got to drag to work now, lol. :shitsweak:

I wouldn't risk the balancing act 89S. I've done it before by puttng a 2x4 block over the trans so it was wedged to the top of the car, but that was best case scenario with the body of the car. You having a Tcase on the back of the trans, and the crossmember at the back of the trans, NO. You'll need to support the trans somehow. Doesn't have to be a jack though. I've even been known to cut off a stick of steel or even a shovel handle and run it inside the frame rail ledges on each side right at about where the trans pan meets the bottom of the bellhousing to support it and hold it up.

I was thinking of that also brah, just stick something in the frame for it to rest on. But I need to watch that the converter don't slide off and fall, so I got to keep it close to level right?
