I know I'm going to have to start pulling the dash and cleaning stuff up and making things work but I thought I'd ask first, what are these wires hanging from the dash? I figure it might be obvious to you guys who have been there already.

I have to get the AC in this thing working before it gets vrey hot around here. Right now the blower doesn't even blow.

That looks like the ECM and ALDL harnesses and connectors. Is your engine completely removed from the TBI system? I'm sure it could be something else, but I don't know what else would be back there.

That makes sense! It is a carburated pontiac motor. I didn't think about it being a TBI motor before. Was an 87 a TBI?

Yep, 1987 was the first year for the trucks. If your truck was a TBI, and all that was disconnected, I doubt it would even start. What are you gonna do?

It's running fine. I just have to turn on a switch for the fuel pump and the carburetor does the rest. I just bought it and the motor was already swapped. I'm going to swap it again, though. However, I need to get the AC stuff figured out. Starting with the blower. Where do I start? Take off the switch panel and work my way to the blower?

The switch might control the stock pump in the tank. If so, you will want to make sure a bypass style regulator is being used. If not, I don't think the stock pump will live very long being corked up like that.

First thing to check for is power at the blower and a good ground wire at the blower.

What's the blower doing when you switch the HVAC unit on? Is it at least clicking?

I don't hear it do anything. I'll get out the volt meter tonight if I have a chance. I do not know my way around this old truck yet but I have a feeling I'm about to learn if it ever to be what I want it to be.
