also, makes me think the spring under the arm was gone or not strong enough causing excess wear or maybe it done twisted, son, like mine

This MIGHT be a possible problem. I worked on my wipers once, and when I reinstalled them, I had the rotating arms on the wrong side of the rotation, by 180 degrees. The opposite side might have the stop that you need. Just a suggestion.
