I did mine a while back and don't remember them being too difficult, but definitely a challenge. I remember that there was a little tab on each one that you had to insert into a hole on the top of the door as a starting point. Yes the windows are tight and slow going up and down, but it seems like they get easier the more they are used. Lube helped. Definitely an improvement and worth doing.

The best and easiest way to do this is to loosen the bolts holding the track and pull it away from the window. Replace the felt and then readjust the track to the proper position for the new felt. With the track loosened up the felt should be super easy to replace and once adjusted properly the window should move up and down easily.
agree. I had to do this along with silicon spray....was still a pita but got through it.
