Just found a slow leak in the front main seal and so im thinking while im in there Ive got options to do other stuff too what do yall think? I wonder about upgrading to a one piece seal (if in fact I have a two piece)....

Check and replace timing set with a good true roller chain.sometimes I like to Advance cam timing for more torque

Don't need to pull the cover to replace seal and I wouldn't unless you have done it before. Cover lower corners need to be modified for reinstall unless the pan is off.
You can put the cover in without dropping the pan, its just a PITA. Done it twice. Not fun but doable.

Timing chain and gear, timing cover gasket, front pan gasket, waterpump gaskets, thermostat gasket, new hose clamps, inspect lower hose...

Just did all that to my friends c20 recently.

If I wasn't clear, didn't suggest dropping the pan. Just the timing cover needed to be modified if it was on. Corners can be trimmed with a bench grinder. Pry down and in with couple small alignment punches. Good to go. Have done it countless times.

Its not even in stock at summit, I would have to wait till like September.... LMAO

I dont trust Jeggs as far as I can throw em - this motor from them is only 5 years old and already a leaking front main...

Whats a good harmonic balance puller?

I use a slide hammer and a drywall screw to pull seals. Sometimes I have to drill a small pilot hole in seal. Works really well for me
