Where have you put oil and temp gauges, pics please.

here's how I did mine. Not the final product, because eventually when I redo the interior I'm going to make it more custom, but this will still pretty much be how it's laid out.

On this did you not cut the back to make it recess deeper?
If you use a Dremel you can make it sit more back

I plan on using the cheaper auto gauges by autometer and doing the same thing
The angle won’t bother me because I have a seat in the truck that sits lower than the stock bench mao it should work out perfect
But I think height hand seize steering wheel size etc makes the difference for people on the angle

Actually, I removed all of the recess to make the gauges sit where I wanted them. I used an old dash panel for my initial mock-up and when I was fairly happy with the location, I did the mods to the current dash panel in the truck. I cut them out from the front side with a hole saw that got me close, and then I finished up the smoothing of the edges and the final hole size with a dremel. I used the 2 5/8" gauges because that was the size I liked and also was the size that most closely "fit" the factory hole/beauty rings of the stock gauge bezels. I removed the factory gauges and had to do some trimming to the tabs left inside the factory gauge cluster to get all the clearance I needed for the gauges and the bezel to sit flush once it was reinstalled. It went pretty smoothly, but looking back, might have been a little easier with a slightly smaller size gauge.

I plan on doing the speedo and rpm gauge too
So I don’t think I’ll retain the factory bucket at all

Here is what I did on my C30 crewcab. Took an overhead console from a 90's suburban, trimmed it and redid cloth, and took out the factory rear AC controls and put my turbo gauges.

Made a floor console to hold my trans and oil temp gauges.

This allowed me to not have any gauges hanging below dash or "hackup" any other part of my bezel.

I'm starting off with the factory Burb gauges since I am doing the LS swap but at some point I may choose to upgrade but what I will probably do for a short time is have a separate oil and water temp gauge mounted on one of those 2 gauge things down below the ashtray just until I can be sure things are running well. I like the idea of making sure its a guage that has numbers on it so there is no confusion about high or low temps or oil pressure.
