What's a good carb to run on my 383?

Another problem I am going to correct is the carb on my 86 K20. Currently running an edelbrock 750 vac secondary on it that has off idle hesitation, every one I've ever had seemed to have a crap idle circuit. Another issue seems they don't like ethanol, have to clean/rebuild almost yearly because of corrosion in the bowl and seems to eat up any rubber in there.
My whole setup is 37" tires, 4.10's, TH400 stage 1 shift kit and Hayes converter, 383 external balance, original dyno was 435hp new. Has flat tops, iron 64cc chambered 2.02's, mild Edelbrock performer rpm cam, performer rpm air gap and a bumped up Accel HEI for spark.
I am looking at either a Holley 0-80770 770CFM Street Avenger or a holley 0-95770 aluminum truck avenger 770 CFM, both are Vacuum secondary, electric choke.
Has anyone ran one of the Truck avengers yet?

I have never run a street avenger , but have had great success with all of the holleys i have owned over the years. My favorite is the 600 with vac secondarys.i have also run an edlebrock and did not like it.

The truck avenger is good for off camber driving due to its breather set up. I believe other then that it isn't much different from a standard Holley.

I know it's not the coolest or prettiest compared to what you're looking at, but I think a performance built Quadrajet from Quadrajet Power is worth looking into. You'd probably pay the same or a little less, but you'll have to talk to him to be sure.

My intake is a square bore and I don't like the adapter plate setup or I would gladly put a Quadrapuke on it, lol. Nothing quite like the sound of dropping in the secondaries on a spread bore.

In that case a plain ole 750 3310 vacuum secondary would work.

Hi, Here's my two cents for your consideration...I have a 75' C-20 2wd truck with a 406 (400 sb punched 20) Aluminum heads, rv camshaft, headers, th-400 with a stage 2 B&M shift kit, stock converter-12". The Carbuetor I'm running after much research is a "Jet Performance" 800cfm quadrajet, set up especially for trucks. The off idle throttle "snap" is super crisp! The "bonus" is they're already set up for "crap ethanol ruined gasoline"...my opinion....I hope this helps! Regards!
