count the bolts or take pics, best guess 10 bolts front and rear.

Yeah there both 10 bolt, but when I go to summit, there's like an 8.2 in, 8.5 in, does it matter? Jim

8.2 and 8.5 will interchange on the covers

You sure about that? The 8.2 in my Impalas look a lot different from the later 8.5 cover. I've never tried to swap them though.

It's an 8.5 front and rear, but the front is shaped a little different at the top, so it takes it's own cover.

According to summit racing site the use the same cover so im thinking itll work the best best it to get one and see if the bolts line up and the buldge is in the right place for the gear.

The factory 8.2 covers have the gear oil gutter stamped into them that directs the lube into the axle tubes and out to the wheel bearings. Maybe that's the only difference.

well if you order them and they don't fit they'd need replaced/returned, so I'd just get a front 8.5 with a plug in it and then a rear gm 10 bolt 8.5 and be done with it.

lmc has chrome ones and so does summit, I saw the cheapo chrome ones listed and plan to order some myself for both my axles.
