What rear diff seals do I need to replace? Carrier bearing condition?

I’ve got a 14 bolt full float rear axle. I think I need to change the piñon seal. Can y’all confirm that? I will be servicing the rear diff fluid at the same time, pulling cover and cleaning out. Reinstalling with lube locker gasket and fresh gear oil. Where the axle shafts come into the diff on each side, are there seals right there also leaking? Is that why I see darker/oily on either side?

Also how does the driveshaft center support bearing (carrier bearing) look? What is that crud built up above it on that bracket?

I would not replace anything. Maybe change the fluid, but that's all. Those leaks are not bad. Unless you are having to top off the diff with each oil change, its nothing to worry about.

Looks like a pinion seal and the spot welds on the axle tubes and center section(common). The axle shafts have their own seals as well, just a gasket on the flange.

Check the axle vent line as well.

Run the carrier bearing till it gets noisy or starts coming apart.

The crud above the carrier bearing is most likely excess grease from the slip yoke. When grease is pumped into the yoke it comes out at the end and gets flung when driveshaft rotates. As for the carrier bearing it is usually a sealed bearing.

the seal looks old but not failed
Consider a new one for a long lasting repair and strong isolation/keeping stable

Also you neeed to grease the shaft slip joint there by the carrier bearing, your wet black dirt above seeems like gas dripping on grease/dirt/mud flung up to it. The grease joint im pretty sure is supposed to be covered with a dust boot that flexes. there is a grease zerk for it , and it should be actuated while greasing so youd have to undo it somewhere to rock it
You want to flush dirt and debris out,, old grease out
Then use something like polyurea if you clean it perfectly which is good about not flinging out at speeds , its used in CV joints.

Check your vent.

Replace the yoke when you do the pinion seal. There is most likely a groove where the seal rides. I just did mine. I tried to find a repair sleeve and came up empty after running around for an entire day. I found every part number listed that seemed like it might be right and none were. O'Reilly's had the best price and got in the next morning.
