I just bought one of the 179 dollar specials, a "2 ton" (yeah, right), with four wheels. In fact, I have to run to town because I don't want to settle for the supposed grade 8 used to pin the leveler or chain, to finish assembly (a Walmart special, with zero directions, zero washers).
The ram says it's good for ten tons.
The farther back I slide the horizontal part, the more weight it's indicated to hold.
The EIGHT ton ram on a two ton picker makes sense, in a overkill way.
If you need photos or anything, just yell.

On those bars, I have many different bars I've acquired over the years. I also ended up with small metal cylinders I inherited via marriage, and that would have got tossed, had I not rescued them.
I duct taped one of the 3/4" by 3" metal dowels to the "straight" end of one of my crowbars for dedicated use to lifting tires in place. It beats trying to lift the monsters that pass for tires these days.

I worked a truck stop for years, as a kid (around 60 years ago). Busted down and mounted a few thousand tires. Don't know that I ever knew the name of half of what I used (duck billed hammers and pry bars, etc.).
Hell, we didn't even have a safety cage for airing up the tires. We leaned them against the corner of the roll up door and went out in the street and got them back, if they blew. The concrete at that door edge was pretty chewed.
A couple times, one of the guys would put the tire and rim under the lift and lowered it over a split rim, to keep the ring from launching. Looking back on it, that was iffy, since dropping the lift too low wouldn't let the tire expand to seat on the spit rim, critical to seating beads.

I bought one of those to have on the work truck. I just assumed it was a direct copy of my older Mayhew bar. The newer Mayhew bars have a different handle that is more bulky.
