Probably why I've never seen em
Dave was the same tech that taught me to get a big round trash can lid with a hole in the center,to put on top of my drain can when doing oil changes and transmission services.

I built a Truck Storage Unit (TSU) to keep my C20 out of the weather and it has a wood floor that is not painted yet.

Picked it up a couple drain pans for the leaks so I can paint the floor without it being oily. Got them from Lowe's.

Did you just look it up? Lolol

Nice to see they still make em, maybe they left the spouts alone because they're forest service approved...
Yep I looked it up,thought you wanted more info on it,didn't realize you already knew. And the spout is probably left alone because there aren't many children logging,JK. Maybe an exemption for a specialty product in a specific industry?

I’ve been debating with myself about what kind of underwood light I want to have on hand for when the engine teardown happens. The wife (bless her heart) was pretty thoughtful in surprising me with a rechargeable one that in theory is a great idea, but the battery is unpredictable and makes it pretty much useless for an all day project.

I do have some Dewalt cordless tools, so I looked at theirs but even though it looks amazing, I’d have to buy yet another battery and the light itself is expensive. The fact that it folds up is nice though.

Then I realized I have one LED ceiling light that I haven’t put up yet, is corded (I could tape it up the cord out of the way with some gaffer tape) and the square hood has some convenient holes that I could zip tie it up under the hood. I already own it, it won’t go dead at the most inopportune moment, and it was 30 bucks. I’ll take the hassle of the cord any day of the week for that.

This is exactly what my buddy does. He doesn't work on stuff near as often as me, so he doesn't have the multiple, multiple lights like I do. He had an unused/extra LED garage light and we just string it underhood of whatever I'm helping him with. It works pretty well

Overall I am very pleased with it. There are a few things I wish were different (all things I knew before buying), but I can live with them.

The gripes are:
1. I would personally like to have a couple more shallow and mid depth narrow drawers instead of the deep bottom ones it has. The drawers can be rearranged, so it could be done if extra drawers could be sourced, but unfortunately the mfg will not sell drawers.
2. The power drawer has the plug in the back of the box, it would have been much better if they integrated it into the power strip on the side of the box, then one plug and no cord coming out of the back to hit everything and get damaged.

Other than those quibbles, I am a happy camper.

I bought a Pelican case, and a bit of foam, which I glued to Kydex sheets to make easily removable/stackable tool trays.

Started a new job, that's all travel, following the aircraft to wherever the work is. Spent a couple weeks at the office doing some Phase work, and was getting pretty irritated not having THE tool I wanted, especially knowing it was in my toolbox at home. Sure there were some tools handy, be we all have that THAT tool, that we prefer for certain things, not to mention some specialty stuff. One of the other mechanics had a setup like this, and since the company pays for baggage too...... well, figured I'm gonna join the fancy/too much baggage club. Hopefully the Pelican travels well as check baggage, but it SHOULD.

I usually travel light, but will now have a 2nd carryon for the first time, because I'm sure not checking my new helmet. lol

A lift and release style. The whole length of the pull lifts up.

I don’t mind it, although truly I’m impartial to any specific kind or style of drawer latch. I know some people are very particular however (like the Gen2 USG latches on the end of the drawer are no-go for a lot of people.)

Ughhhh, I love that latch system so much. My old Sunex box was that way, that is the most superior setup IMO. My Gen2 USG box with the side latch, I've gotten used to but alot of other people hate it. HF/ICON teased their next Gen2 boxes at SEMA that will be 30" deep and have this latch system. The latches alone have me already budgeting for one of those boxes when they come out in 2026/2027

I don’t mind it them, my buddy dislikes it because he can’t remember which side they are on (on my 5 drawer cart)… It’s a 50-50 shot with a static object…

At work I have a Stanley Vidmar cabinet for lathe tooling that has lift up latches on the right side, and we have a couple older Snap-On boxes with the early Lock n Roll setup. Then my 72” gen 2 at home and my 5 drawer cart at the shop, and now this Masterforce box. So I am in and out of boxes with different latch setups every day, it is what it is.

With that said, I do think the current generation and upcoming Icon boxes are quite nice, especially if they are going to 30” deep, that puts them in a space above the rest I think. The current 73” icon is about double (before taxes) what I paid for the Masterforce. That was a fair driver in that decision.

Also I just thought I have zero color coordination with my boxes, blue, green, orange, black, brown, red…

Since I have been seeking NOS D-1906 modules and to increase my self-reliance in the fixin the truck department, I decided to get some testers to 1) check if module is good 2) check module operation/performance whilst in the distributor 3) troubleshoot ignition issues...
