Fwiw, for the group and for good people who have insurance, NEVER divulge your insurance info to the other party or cops unless you’re certain it’s your fault and the other party also coughs up legit insurance info.
Applies double if the other party doesn’t have insurance or won’t provide it.
Has saved me from dealing with other party claims more than once. (In situations where the other party was responsible).
Worst case scenario you get a no proof of insurance ticket that gets dropped in court when you produce insurance effective on the date of the ticket.
Happened again just a few years ago. While we got hosed fixing our own vehicle on our insurance when the OP insurance should have covered, at least it keep the OP from making a claim when my insurance deemed the collision at fault, despite the overwhelming evidence of an illegal (no license or insurance), impaired, hit and run driver.
Hope this is helpful.

That’s a 2007-2017 ford expedition
More specifically, it is a 2015-2017 Expedition. Those three years are the last of the old body style (square, actually, haha) and they have the chrome strip across the middle of the tailgate.

Yesterday evening my wife is merging on the highway and then traffic stops. She almost stops but hits an SUV. She gives that driver all her info and a says it's her fault. My wife does not get any info from the other driver. I know, right?

My sister-in-law does take a picture of the SUV damage. Can someone tell me what vehicle this might be?
