I swapped a 5.3 in my '85 K10 earlier this year.

What is everyone doing for A/C? Any cheap route to use stock compressor etc. ?

Thanks in advance!

Mine isn't working at the moment, so it's windows down, back window open, vent windows open, and let the evaporative cooling of persperation on skin do its job.

But it will get a new compressor, filter and dryer. Hopefully that is all that's needed.

Does your truck have factory AC? Either way, I'd bet Vintage Air in San Antonio can steer you in the right direction.

Seems to be a trend here. I need to replace everthing just to be safe...starting with the missing ac compressor....p.o. removed it but left everything else. Looks like it was converted to r12 in the process. I'm too old to drive without ac, so the truck wont be driven until late September. I don't feel like trying to spontaneously combust myself.
