Looks like a Ford 240-300 "big six" head from the late 60's.

My buddy from Shaggy's ford forum told me that since you said 240 or 300.

hope you sell it for cheap since you don't know if it's cracked or warped or anything man.

I'm sure it'd be worth something to someone who is rebuilding/restoring one to stock and needs it for the correct year range etc., but to most of us it'd be scrap unless it was a set of v8 heads.

I know where a ford y block is, sitting in an old school bus, on the mountain rotting away. Maybe do some electrolisi on whatever on it and sell it. it used to be complete minus one valve cover which was there, but somebody stripped the heads off of it a few years back when I checked. Also had a junked 68 or 69 malibu 4 door.

Well the head was sitting on dresser thingy in the garage. Looks pretty straight to me as far as being warped.

You cant see if a head is warped. You have to have it decked to see the irregularities. They put it on what looks like a giant belt sander and it will show the high/low spots. It only takes a couple thousandths of an inch to blow a head gasket. You also cant usually see a crack in a head. Sometimes a really bad one will show but you have to have it magnafluxed to show cracks in a head or block.

just wouldn't want to see somebody come back wanting to whoop yo azz over a warped head or crack or something. if the price is right they can't complain though.

well now you can check it for warpage, just need it cleaned, lay a straight edge on it and try to fit a feeler gauge under it, in several spots, same for head deck surface on the block itself.

But I would agree having it decked or shaved would tell you for sure and would make it flat.
