Silver with black tinted windows was the hook that made me buy my Tacoma a couple years ago. I would STILL be susecptible to that hook even today vehicle shopping. I never had any problems with silver compared to any other color. At one time (mid-90's?) living in "Chemical Valley" would cause all the clearcoat on the hood and top of certain vehicles to come off no matter what color but they seem to have done something to fix that issue, be it with the chemicals in the clearcoat or the chemicals in the air here lol.

i had a few silver vehicles years ago and the paint all ways went bad.fadded pealed.go too a parking lot.look at silver vehicles.all most all of them.the paint is crap.go look at a dark color.still shining.like they were new..you can even change the inside.to white.if the out side is dark..go out there and check parking lots..you will see..the dark vehicles.stand out..

but chevy..has a yellow out..corvette color.paint may be high..

GM Silver back in the 80's into the early 90's, was piss poor due to the paint pigment I was told. I've seen 98 model Silvers that look as good today as they did in 98. Just go with a good quality paint, and good clear and it should be fine and long lasting.

I like this bad ass color. Looks to be a metallic wine color.

That is one of my favorite colors. I was tossing around the color option when I was painting my truck but went with the blue instead. When it comes time for another repaint in the future I'll be going with that "wine" color or some form of a dark maroon. Then after that will be a dark forest green!!! :)

I'm liking the idea of the wine color with his interior color. The silver or gold across the bottom would make a good accent too.

It actually was the primer that caused it, it just kinda would turn to dust and the paint would fall off. It seemed to affect the metallic colors the most, with white being an exception.
