So I traded my 3 mickey Thompson rims for a set of stainless trim rings for my rallies. I got home and went to put them on and started having issues. First, I seem to have three of the correct ones and then one oddball one OK, I'll make it work. Well the first one snapped in place no problem on the driver side front tire. Moved to the driver side back tire and I cant for the life of me get any of them to snap in place. Is there something I'm missing here? Or did I just flat get screwed over on this deal? I got the rims freed so I'm not out any money, I just don't like being screwed over. Hoping you guys can shine some light on the situation.

well, i ran outside and took some pictures for you..

The 2 that look alike are beauty rings off of an 82 Suburban.

And the other one is just one that i saw laying around so i figured ide compare it.

As long as your ring size, offset, and valve stem match the wheel, most beauty rings are universal.

Thank you for those. I took a look at the ones from my grandfather in laws truck and his has the clips like yours do. I measured the diameter of his and mine both, they are both just over 16 inches. My first thought was that I had a set for 16 inch wheels, but I think I've ruled that out. It just baffles me that the first ring went on great but the others won't. I'm still trying to post the oddball one.

There we go, that's the oddball of the group. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here.

Oh, yeah... those older ones are a bitch. You just gotta get it positioned just right as you bop the clips onto the rim. A rubber mallet really is needed here to save your hands.

I guess I got the first one just right then. I will say that even with the wheels needing to be painted, the trim rings really do make the rally wheels look good. Hopefully I can make these work. If not I guess I'll have to break down and just buy some from LMC. They have the center caps too, so maybe some day I'll have the complete rally wheel setup lol.
