Were plain grilles ever offered stock?

My 1976 C10 Custom deluxe has a plain grille, no bowtie. Would it originally have had one? Are all badgeless squarebody grilles aftermarket?

Factory grills always had an emblem, aftermarket grills usually don’t because of trademark protections.

Thank you @nvrenuf. At some point someone must have put a blank grille on mine. There are some great looking replacements that come with the emblems, so I may go for one of those eventually.

You will be surprised at first by what PO have done , and eventually NOT surprised any longer. Part of the fun with these trucks. When Easton got his new grill a year ago the bow tie was bright yellow and slowly faded. He is redoing it with adhesive sheeting he got at Hobby Lobby for $1.99

It would be pretty cool to use some kind of reflective material.
