Walker offers factory replacement dual exhaust for 73-87 square bodies. Has anyone installed dual exhaust kit made for a 6.2 diesel on their gas truck?I was looking at their online catalog and you can buy this kit or one from a 400 sb powered pick up and bolt it on.I'm just wondering if they are truly bolt on or if there are differences from year to year.

Difference may be where the downpipes bolt to the manifolds.

IIRC, the stock replacement dual piping is small, like 1 7/8 diameter.

The kit I am looking at is dual 2-1/4".I think that should be plenty for a mild 406.I agree the down pipe connections will be different, but there's no exhaust shop in my town so this is the easiest way for me to do this.

Do you have a link to which kit you are looking at?

Sounds like it might be the same kit as the Dynomax universal dual exhaust. It's a decent fitting kit, but has crush bends.

The Hooker dual exhaust kit also fits well but has mandrel bends, which IMHO, is much better. I've used Dynomax and Hooker personally.

I think Flowtech also sells a 2.25 dual kit, but I haven't used it yet.

I tried to buy the Walker kit and found they were no longer available.I ended up buying a Hooker dual exhaust system in 2-1/4".The pass side went great but the d/s needed some clearancing to clear the cross member.Mandrel bent and seems like a decent system.Haven't finished the install yet.Still need to install the hangers and tighten all the clamps.BTW this was a manifold back system which bolts up to the stock manifolds.
