What size valve stems would fit stock rims?

(Mine is 83 1/2 ton, but would assume 73-87 1/2 tons were all the same diameter hole?)

Yeah, most were the smaller size. There was an optional 16x5 steel wheel on 1/2 tons though (2wd), that used the larger size stem like an 8-lug truck would.

Ok, so it seems that there are generally only 2 diameters (i'm not really concerned about length) ? And half tons as well as most cars take the smaller diameter?

The 413 or 414 would probably work.

You dont usually see the larger ones on much except implements and old antique stuff. At least I haven't seen many of em and I have changed way more tires than I ever want to again.

Well, maybe not anymore. Just about anything 8-lug that I encountered from the 80's on back had the large stems.
