Turning off the ebrake light

Well guys my ebrake was sticking so I ended up cutting the line with a grinder and now the ebrake light is on in the dash. I plan on replacing the line soon but is there a way to shut the light off in the meantime?

Look up on the upper part of the e-brake engaging mechanism. You'll see a switch somewhere in this area:

There will be a tan/white wire leading to the switch. Disconnect the wire from the switch and the dash light will be unable to be grounded and won't light up. I think there is a harness plug very close to the switch that you can unplug.
