Yes i have a 82 gmc i am needing to buy tires for. I really like the look of the bfg radial T/A. I was wanting i nice wide tire that would stick out from the wheel well a little bit to give it that aggressive look but dont know what size tire i would need to get this. Any help on this i would be thankful !

You need a wide wheel too if you want the tire to stick out more. Otherwise, you will just get a bigger bulge in the sidewall. Not that there's anything wrong with that. A 255/70 or a 275/60 (a little shorter and fatter) is a good size for the usual 15x8 wheel.

Ya I was looking at the 255/70. But I had planned on getting wheels to go with . So a 15x8 would work ?

Wider wheels help out the look of a tire a lot , I run nothing less than a 10" wide wheel on my stuff , and I perfer the look of a 12" wide wheel. But it is harder on part's though ,(hanging the tire wieght farther out) , but the look is worth it to me. 10" wide with 38's on my old step side , top pick , 12" wide with 44's on my crew cab , bottom pick. I have also ran 10" wide wheels with 31/10.50's on my low rider stuff and it still makes them look fat.

Your wheels back space make's a big difference as well , all the 12's I run are 3 1/2 back space bart wheels , and they hang big time , again hard on parts with big rubber though , (but worth it imo.)

Yeah, that's what mine has on it. They are fatter looking than a stock tire, but still have a bit of a "stock" appearance. I just don't like the design of my wheels.

If the truck is lowered, a 275/60 would look a little better I think.

Most stock rims are 15x7 or 15x8 (unless you have the plain jane steelies), which the 255/70 will work fine with. But with a 10 inch wide wheel, those 255 wide tires will be too narrow. If you want to go with those wider wheels later, you would probably want to get the 275/60's now, but that will only work OK if you have the 15x8's now.

295/50's usually look better on a 10 inch wide wheel anyway. So it may be best for you to wait and get the wheels and tires you want, at the same time.

Have a pic of your current wheels?

That looks to be a 15x8... maybe a 15x7 though.
