How hard is it for someone who hates/has never done much transmission work to rebuild and beef up my th350? I found a B&M kit for $400 on summit which is supposed to let it handle a little more abuse too. I might drop the trans and do it myself who has done it?

Done a $hit load of them they are easy, don't know if they still do but B&M full kits used to come with a step by step manual with pics from tear down to to full assembly real easy to understand..

Cool, will probably try it then. If I fail, my neighbor has a transmission shop so I'll go to him with it ha!

Just take your time and pay attention to detail, and follow the instructions and you'll do just fine...

It's very doable. There is lots of online writeups. I bought an older HP Book on rebuilding TH350's and it was helpful, but not needed with the online stuff that's available.

I rebuilt mine in June, with a 700R4 low sprag, fancy-schmancy case saver, hardened intermediate sprag, machined the direct clutch down to fit a fifth clutch and steel, and installed a Transgo shift kit. The B&M shift kit should not be used as directed - it's hard on parts.

You need a couple specialty parts, or creativity to disassemble. Check the online builds and you will see what you are getting into.

If you are very organized, and very meticulous, you will do fine.
