I agree with the others...use what you got.
However, I prefer the larger 70-76cc heads as they flow better around the valves. You'll trade off some power now and if you ever build another short block, you can build up around the larger chamber and make more power later.

What year Nova? I have a '63. Stevesnovasite.com is the best forum if you aren't already on there.
I have a 71. It has a 454 with TH400 and a Gear Vendors OD. I have gone to stevesnovasite, but I'm not a regular there. My Nova has about a 30 year old restoration on it. I'm hoping to start a rebuild next spring, but I have two kids in college so will have to see...

Thanks for the input guys, don't mean to open up an old can of worms here.
In my area, machine shops are either............ Not no, but HELL no or non existent.
I've researched it a good bit and selling it and buying a "better" crate engine is looking better.
