Okay, I'm trying to figure this out, I have a 78 3/4 ton with a 350 and a th350 and np203. Now can I remove all three at once? Or do I have to disconnect my transfer case, Than pull the engine and trans. How should I do this? Thanks.

You might have to take the front rad support off the truck, but even then you would have to remove the transfer case first.

I would jack it up on all four wheels with jack stands so that you can move freely under the vehicle. JUST NOT SO HIGH THAT YOU CANT REMOVE THE ENGINE UP AND OVER THE RAD SUPORT! LOL

Then I would remove the transmission torque converter cover and remove all the TC bolts from the flex plate.

Then remove all the transmission to engine bolts.

Then put a jack stand or floor jack under the transmission (preferably a reliable floor jack) with a piece of wood or plywood under the tranny pan, and then go about pulling the motor.

Then remove the transmission cross member and lower the transmission and transfer case down and out.

This way the rad support can stay

Is there a way I can not remove the transmission from the engine?

well you could remove the front clip/rad support and then you might be able to get the whole thing to slide out but you might have issues getting the transfer case out with it. If you removed the transfer case you could get the engine and transmission out as one with out removing the front clip/rad support but you will have some fun along the way :)

Is there a particular reason you need to remove the trans with the engine?

Well you can still do that. Its just way easier removing the driveline in 2 pieces. Engine and then transmission/transfer case.

when removing the engine and trans only all you need to remove is the hood. you will need a lever with at crank to tilt the engine and trans tho. not hard but is a two person job.

I'm going to have a engine lift, and 3 people, I have Jack stands and other jacks too, so I'm not worried about the amount of people. I'd rather not disconnect the engine and trans though

There's really nothing difficult about separating the engine and trans, and it does make the job A LOT easier. But, if you're committed to removing them both at the same time, it can be done.

Whichever way you do it, just try to make it easier on yourself so you're not fighting progress as you go. While taking everything out at once sounds logical, it could add more stress and time to the project.
