Tach Gauge Cluster for $25 - Worth it?

Is this something worth messing with?
Probably assume the tach does not work.
Is the rusty metal easily removed for sandblast and paint?
Would just buy a new lens, or use my current one.

If it's still there after Christmas I was thinking about making the trek.
What are your thoughts?

I'd be on that like white on rice. Hell, go get it and I'll give you $40. It's a '78-79 cluster.

The lens and shroud are easy to replace and can come from a regular cluster. You'll probably have to replace the gauge contacts on the back but that too is easy.

Go for it! I think it would clean up nice too. The black bezel could use a good sanding and a coat of paint, and the lens looks like it's in good enough condition that it might polish up nicely. Worst case, the tach doesn't work but you can buy new replacements now.

Hell the cluster housing alone is worth the $25. Go get before its gone.

****... I forgot all about that. As I thought about what I posted, after I posted it, I thought that was probably a dumb question. When the schedule allows it, I will be going to get it. Thanks for the replies guys.
