How do you guys fit your subs in your single cab truck? I have a 12" Sony Explode(not shallow) that i am trying to fit in my '83 K10. Any ideas on how to do it? The box will not fit behind the seat, not even close.

To fit a sub with a mounting depth like the one you have a custom box will need to be made. The sub mounting flange will have to be sitting at the bottom of the box so the magnet is in the corner which will allow the most mounting depth. Otherwise you'll have to live with the seat slid forward a bit. I'll post pics if need be.

What ever happened to the fella from Arkansas that was making and selling custom boxes on here? I can't remember who it was but I bet you can find it in a search.

Couldn't find a pic of my old sub actually in the box, so I just drew a circle on the box. Here's all the pics I can find.

Yup I ended up cutting the back out and covering the hole with plexiglass to extend the mounting depth for the magnet. But it worked out just fine. And this box is 1.58 cubes ported, so when I see guys with like 4 subs I SMH

Here is my subs dimensions
Mounting diameter: 11-1/8
Top mount depth:6-1/2"
Bottom mount depth: 7-3/8"
Sealed box volume(recommended): .77cubic feet
Sub can be in a ported, vented, or a sealed box. Is there any way I could make a box for it to fit behind the seat?

I am wondering this myself.

What would be the best way to mount subs in single cab trucks with bench seats?

Best thing is find some shallow mount subs. I find that most guys just want a little bass. Shallow subs will fit the bill. There are pre fab sub/ amp boxes that are said to put out approx 200 watts rms and that may be enough if a person just wants a little bass.

I have always thought that mounting the sub facing up under the seat would give you the best bass in the seat of your pants feeling ? LOL no but seriously ?

8" to 10" in a proper box will fit behind most seats without any issues. It would be advised to run a sub protector as the seat can easily lay into it.

A 12" sub will not fit and will have to be centered as was done and a spacer will be required to insure the distance is deep enough.

I ran 2 10" in a ported box in a s10 and by god was that thing stupid loud lol!
