Suburban Barn Door Weather stripping Replacement Questions

Hi All,

The barn doors leak- and it rains, a lot! To solve this I need to put in new weather stripping. Being budget conscious, is something like 1/2" self adhesive stuff at the hardware store good enough for this? Or do I need to spend the $100 or so on the reproduction stuff?

I'd try the cheap stuff first. The stuff that's supposed to fit makes the doors almost impossible to close, and I'm talking hard like having to wedge the doors apart from the inside with a piece of wood while someone pushes from the outside.

Okay, I tried the hardware store stuff and it was a total fail. I got stuff that was just too small for it, and I'll be honest- I'm a dummy for buying the wrong stuff! But, I don't know the right stuff exists outside of the OEM style. I'm going to order new stuff and try again. If anybody wants to see, check out the video:
