Got the new EPS intake installed, resolved all of my vacuum leaks. However, still throws more blueish smoke than I’d prefer, still on the drivers side.
I relocated the pcv to the passenger side rear valve cover/breather port. I used paper towels to plug the hole on the drivers side valve cover. Still blue smoke.
Moved the pcv vacuum source to manifold vacuum from ported vacuum. Still blue smoke.
Nothing crazy, but noticeable.
Then again, it’s a79 400sbc.
I’m resigning to the notion that even though this engine was re-ringed recently, I think there was an intake leak from that job that kept the rings from seating properly.
Time to look into the leak down vs compression test to help me determine if it’s the valves, which I doubt, or those rings. Ov course I’ll pull the plugs on Wednesday an get some pics.
I will say that it does run noticeably better since I made the changes above.
