My 1980 Camper Special....

A friend bought a piece of property that had a couple of abandoned vehicles on it. This '80 squarebody was on it, with an enormous cabover camper in the back. My buddy says "if you can get it out of here you can have it". So of course, I'm as giddy as a school girl over it. The body was cherry, rust free, and I mean RUST FREE!!! I pop the hood and much to my surprise, I see a brand new Targetmaster 350. I pull a couple plugs to look inside with the Bore scope and what do I see???? Fresh Hatch!!! I know it's been sitting for some time, so I check the fluids, pull the dizzy and use my oil pump tool to spin the oil up to the top. Dumped a cup of gas into the Edelpuke carb, put the booster pack on the battery and it fired..... purred like a kitten. The clutch was shot so I swapped that and second gear (third speed) popps out under a load. I'm going to tear it down and see what it needs. I'm not convinced it needs a new gear at this point. My GMC daily driver is down and on the rack right now getting new head gaskets. Once I;m done with that I'll pull the SM465 out... AGAIN and pop the top to see what the hell is going on in there..... This truck is a survivor and I'm just the girlto keep it that way. My husband is jealous.... and I like et

I am a retired investigator for the Coroner's office..... I find the truth that the victim can't tell. Of course, if they weren't dead they could just blab away. :)

Youll have to try those pics again. If you go to advanced options you can upload them from your computer as an attachment.
