Those suburbans seem to be the most fun to destroy, awesome romping vehicles.

I like a good looking lifted 4x4 Suburban. I showed my wife the vid and told her I was thinking about having one, she looked at me real funny, said something, and walked out of the room.

I wonder if it went over and they cut out out of the video. That thing was maxed out.

Yeah me too, I have a feeling we might not have seen the end of that video, or he had some help it getting down to keep from going over.

No, you're not. I have a 88 3/4 ton Suburban but its 2WD. I am pretty sure I have about decided I want a 4x4 Burb over a K5 Blazer. Only advantage I see to a K5 is taking the top off, so I think I'd go for the 4 doors, the full size seat in the rear, still have the little rear seat too not that it'll get used much, but the Burbs also have rear air, K5 doesn't. Also seems alot easier to find a 4x4 Burb than it does a K5. People want an arm and a leg for junk K5's just cuz they are K5's.

Having had a K5 in Reno and now a square Suburban, I prefer a Sub. I can haul my crap around and sleep in the back when the Zombies attack and we have to bug out. :gr_guns:

Really? Here you can find a decent, running K5 for less than $2K. I've been trying to get my mom to get one to replace her rusted out 1979 K5.

http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/2050361927.html - needs trans work but solid and $1300

4x4 Burbans are almost as common for the same money. :)

Now, hopefully, I can find my SWB project for a good price. :D

hahaha Jay, I don't consider myself redneck. But as long as people think that of me, I leave it as is, cuz it works to my advantage. I was born and raised in So Cal, so I am pretty aggressive unlike Billybob and company here in OK. But, these rednecks to do have fun and I can adjust my style and fit right in.
I have seen decent 4x4 burbs here that run for $1200-$1600, that run and little to no rust. Interior could be a little rough, or paint not so great, faded or surface rusted etc. Other than taking the top off on the K5, I think I also like the longer wheel base for a more comfy ride on the hwy, and the longer wheel base also works better for lift kits since you don't have such a tight driveshaft angle as you do when you lift short wheel base trucks or K5's. I also like bells and whistles, like rear air, a nice sound system etc, so I just think the Burb is the better decision for me. If I had my way, I'd have both a 4x4 Burb and a K5. And they just might happen someday too.
