So, when I bought my suburban 2 years ago, it was fairly clean, little rusty since its home was Illinois. Didn't really care about all that, just wanted a nice 2wd family cruiser for me, the woman, and the 2 girls
Bone stock, 350 tbi, 700r4, 3.08 10 bolt rear. Blah blah.
Speedo occasionally works.
WHY?
Usually will sit dead at 0 then after a certain Time, certain speed, it'll go crazy, go up to 63-65mph, stay put, jump down to 0 and die again, on occasion after a long drive or stopping and going at stores (turning on and off) it'll decide it wants to work again.
I'm a carb man, not a tbi man. Clueless here.
Did a little reading before I was a member here, I hear it can be related to the ABS module??? Mine was giving me issues when I first got the truck. Got tired of fiddling with it, can't remember what. I did. Maybe unplugged it, the fuse, or I swapped the abs module out with another from my k5 I stripped down (identical gear ratio/trans/engine).
SO
What I have tried:
changing the vss (no luck)
Changing the drac module (no luck)
Used old one out of the k5, the pinout was same as Subruban, 3.08, stock tire.
took the dash apart, did the all important jiggling of wires, (no luck)
No damage to solder or leads on circuit board.
Trying to hit bumps in the road to see if it's something I'm unaware of that's loose LOL (no luck)
I'm clueless here.
Anyone experience this same issue?
Cluster is standard, no clock, no tach, big gas gauge, big speedo.
Thank you guys
