Has anyone with an sm465/np205 with the short mount, made a spacer so they could use it with a regular "flat" crossmember?

I don't feel like ordering a used "W" crossmember, time is of the essence. I have a welder, plenty of metal, and an angle finder so I can keep the driveline geometry correct.

I'd just like to see if anyone else has done this. Don't mind my messy garage floor, or the fact that I have the transmission flipped upside down Lol

I have a pair of K25 & K15 trucks with the flat crossmember with no spacer. They use the OE biscuit 2-piece rubber mount.

The ‘85+ short foot adapter would be too short for a pre ‘85 flat crossmember with the dual bushings by probably 2.5”+.

Mine are 76 K15 & K25 & 78 K25. I have an 84 K5 that I'm swapping in an NP465/NP208 that will probably need the "W". I have a crossmember from a K30 that's different & I reckon that's because of the frame height difference. It doesn't have the biscuit mounts.
The OP has what looks like an "80 slip yoke setup & that's actually what's in my '76 K25 with a flat crossmember.

@Strick the tcase adapter pictured is a short foot adapter which is ‘85+ and very different from the ‘84 and older stuff, note the 1 pc wide mounting bushing shown.

The slip yoke assembly started around ‘78~’79, it’s not a marker for 1980 as it started before and was used in applications at least through ’87 and possibly up to ‘91 although I’m not sure if you could get a 2 door square body cab & chassis between ‘88-‘91.

I had listed my older trucks because the 81 up stuff is hard to come by here in the Sandhills. They all have the "figure 8" adapter & the newer NP208 that I have has the large round adapter & it may be close to the round on an NP205. That’s why I mentioned maybe having to use the "w" on the K5.
Thanks for the info @nvrenuf, I'm always learning more about these trucks with you folks' knowledge.

I’ve never matched the gaskets but my understanding is that big round bolt pattern is the same, sort of an industry standard type thing. I’ve been told that even the Fords use that pattern.

I'm 99% sure that Ford's use the same pattern, but it is non-symmetrical and rotated so that it doesn't just bolt up the same. But yes, 85 up round pattern 208's, 205's, and I believe a lot of stuff through current have the same round pattern.

What I find odd is its obviously an 85 up mount.. but I was told the whole setup came out of an 81 k30. It's also a non synchro 205 which I thought they did away with after 81 or 82.

Round pattern np205 was '85-up.
