I have a 1987 GMC High Sierra 3/4 ton 4WD. I'd like to change the shocks. I'm hoping to receive some recommendations. Just replacing stock shocks with new ones. Current ones are past their prime. Not looking to break my bank.

Thank you

Clint

Check RockAuto for those KYBs. They've got the regular and heavy duty ones there. They have those and Delco, plus the store brands (Gabriel and Monroe).

The last shocks I bought were RANCHO RS-5000.
I thought they were good for my 1997 C1500 and will likely buy them again. They became my go-to truck shock.

They are budget-friendly :imo:

Lifted? I run Bilstein cost more last almost forever if it is lifted may still have something for your truck. Summit sells many brands including Bilstein that’s where I picked mine up 1 ton 2wd.

Ranchos are good, I've run them on many of the 4x4s I've owned. Keep in mind however, that they will be a stiffer ride than factory spec'd absorbers.

I run bilsteins on my Suburban and its a great ride. I've had Rancho 5000's on my half ton ram and they rode well, I was very happy with them. I have a new set now in my 3/4 ram and cant wait to get them out. My tired stockers rode better. Gonna go bilstein after winter.
