Ac line seal washers with little aluminum collets how do they go together. Theres a red then green then a washer with rubber on it and the ..aluminum pieces. The red and green one dont fit on the larger manifold opening but the washer does. Maybe wrong seal kit...

Are you talking about the seals at the compressor (D/R R-4 type) suction/discharge hose manifold?

If so, the only type of seal I have ever used is a fairly thick plain black o-ring that goes between the manifold block and compressor. I believe that is what the OEM seal was - just an o-ring.

I think those two part/multi colored seals are for compressors that have been rebuilt and the port areas modified?

Don't worry about the aluminum bits, you can just throw those in the trash.

The seals are to accommodate different style compressor bodies used over the years. Some are stepped, some are not, some use one larger seal, some use o-rings. The goal is simple, just use the right combo of seals to make the manifold line bolt up evenly to the compressor.

Those seal kits sometimes don't have all you need. Occasionally you need two thin seals or sometimes you need a black colored seal (it's sized right between the red one and green one).
