My 99 1t 4wd has a mutant 350. Flat tappet cam/lifter set, stock tbi “flat top” pistons, Vortec heads/2pc intake/mpfi converted. On paper a 9.4:1 compression ratio.
I’m prepping it for an Air Gap intake, AVS2 4bbl (think my wife ordered a 750cfm), 1.6 roller rockers, standard coil in cap hei distributor, inline electric fuel pump. Why? Don’t trust it as built, only lasted 22k miles. Lots of ignition and efi issues. Aftermarket parts are not what they were 30 years ago… Block is not drilled for a mechanical fuel pump, or it would be getting one… Stop gap until I can big block swap it, but would be a nice C10/K10 swb engine when finished. Or in the 62-64 Belair/Biscayne sedan (4 tailights instead of 6) in the neighbor’s cow shed… Yeah, I want the car as a home for the mutt 350…
