You fellas ever heard of these? From what I have read, was something GM offered for the side impact fiasco.....one story sounded like they had it early and dropped it; another sounded like it was offered after the fact. Looked a little further and found someone peddling one on feebay......albeit for appendage$ I still need. Too far and too much for me, but an interesting idea nonetheless.

One article said this was the only way it passed a 30mph impact without a breach. Dunno.

They were already released for cab chassis models.

A person could put them on a pickup if so inclined.

And - no, they were not required in order to pass side impact testing. If that was the case then every truck would have had them from day 1.
