Hi,
Went to replace my blower fan motor because its tired and doesnt spin too fast...
Put it in and it made a ton of vibrating noise. Also, could see there are 4 shiny rivets on it on the outside with it in, and could see little tiny sparks on them every once in a while.
Took it out, inspected it, everything seems as it should be besides one thing. I used a new motor but kept the old fan. The old motor shaft was a little bit larger on the end, the nut was a bigger size. The new one, its a smaller size but still fits on nicely and tightens up and seats fully. But, the shaft on the old motor does not move in and out. The shaft on the new motor (Went to NAPA and got one for a truck without heat, as mine is) you can pull in and out by hand. This is before the fan even goes on.

Anything suggested to fix this? Thanks!

Sounds like the new fan motor assembly might be defective.
