Replacing back window in suburban

So, forever ago my suburban got laid on its side, and a old rotor that was hanging out in the back of it busted the glass. This was maybe early 2000s. It's one of the things I wanna address and replace.
This week I will be tackling several things rhat are fixable, which include the interior cleaning, headliner, dash pad I haven't finished, and that glass.
My dad has a spare glass I can install that's tinted, I just need to pull the old one.

My question is, does anyone have any tips to make it easier, and can I reuse the molding?

I just have this fear of removing the old glass, then struggling to get the new one in. I've never done glass replacement.

1. Put on goggles and gloves.
2. Put down a tarp.
3. Remove the glass with the sash.
4. Use a heat gun or light torch to soften the window weld while prying up the glass.

Be slow and don't rush.

If your replacement glass is still in the sash, forget 3 & 4.

And how do i put it back in?
I've heard tricks about piano wire.

Piano wire in the groove of the window rubber will allow you to "pull" the inside rubber lip over the body seam. work it slowly all the way around the window as you pull the piano wire out. Helps to have a second set of hands on the outside pushing the window/seal inward and a host of putty knife type tools plastic and maybe metal ones to help pry the seal.
Been a long time since I've replaced a window, but that's what i remember.
And spray bottle of soap water for lube.

On the rear window of my K15 I had the standard gasket with no lock bead. To install, I used a a small diameter rope as I didn't want to tear the gasket and straight dish soap in the grove. I had a bottle of water to help thin the soap if I needed it.

Just work slow and with a helper on the outside to help tap the glass.

Oh goody! So it's like mounting a tire by hand, soapy water and working the seal around

I'll save that part of my work on the burb for the weekend then. Get dad or the misses to help push it in while I work it in the gap

The hard part is going to be not cracking the replacement window. It is laminate glass like a windshield.

I just use a dull curved large pick for removal/installation.
