I'm repainting my 390 engine and other parts. First is the oil pan.

Here's pictures of what the oil pan looked like before wire brushing the old paint off.

I be painting this tomorrow. If stuff is good as C4 says it is then I might use on the bed, fenders, cab, etc. and just might use it the frame too. Havent decided if I want to use Por15 or Purple Power De-ruster on the frame though.

I wouldn't use it on exterior body panels, I would sand as much rust off as possible first. On the frame you can use the purple power then POR15 over it, the purple power only converts the rust, and the POR15 paint will seal it. If you put the POR15 over the rust it will continue to creep.

Why shouldnt I use it on body parts. Be alright to use on the inner fenders and paint with engine paint? Was gonna use it on battery tray too.

Edit - The bottle says you can use it on auto body panels.

As you see after 3 hrs of dry time it will second coat of Purple Power De-Ruster due to how bad it was rusted/corroded.

Instead of using a drill/wire wheel you might get better results using a 4-1/2" angle grinder with a wire wheel. You woulda had a lot less rust left I believe. But yeah that purple stuff looks like hell when it dries but that's the way it's supposed to look, it wont ever look like an even coat of paint or primer. When I get around to doing the rest of my axle I'll take some pics, mainly use it in places my grinder wont reach the rust.
