Does anyone know if there are rear wheelhouse patch panels available for the 73 to 91 suburban? Or if someone knows of a donor body?
thanks,
Dennis

There are not. It is one of my biggest pet peeves as a Suburban fan. Despite the fact that they are often the first part of the body to rust out, not a single damn company reproduces them. They also tend to rust out in the "rust free" areas of the country.

Recently, I went so far as to buy a pair or rust-free quarter panels with wheel houses from a seller in Washington. Then when I found out how much shipping was going to be (nearly as much as shipping a truck), I then bought a truck in Washington and had it shipped to OH with the Burb quarter panels in the bed of said truck. It ain't easy, or cheap, finding them, lol.

The other option is to just fab your own out of universal trailer fenders.

Thanks for the response, I was afraid of that, looks like mr welder will be dusted off and some fabrication will have to be done. I do like your idea of using trailer fenders,as I don’t own an English wheel. I’ve made lots of body panels on my tr3 but they were mostly straight, thanks for the suggestions.

Here's a few more pic of getting them roughly in place. They were a lot of work, but no other options really. I bought 4 pieces total, each side has two halfs that bolt together. Inner/outer.
They fit the inside of the quarter panel perfectly and the depth matches up to the cargo floor but the tubs are about three inches taller and 3 inches longer overall.
Drivers side needed to be sectioned to clear spare tire
Anyway it really worked out and from outside looks almost factory. I didn't want to make it seem like they drop in,they don't

Does the 3rd row seat still fit with the truck/K5 tubs in place?

3rd seat fits fine.i regards of seat fitment the wheelhouse is only taller, so seat w/arm rest's fits between no issue. The only other thing that might be a small problem for some, would be reusing original wheelhouse molded carpeting...not sure though because i bought all new carpeting and everything fit fine and looks great. seat belt retractors fit also.
