Rear Shock Extenders

...I was under the impression that any axle flip/6"/7"/8" rear drop required a C-notch for adequate suspension travel. I think the shock extenders allow you to use stock length shocks on a lowered suspension but still allow the shocks to be oriented at a near stock angles and do their dampening as GM designed. Riding on the bump stops is like driving a rigid suspension go kart.

Not required if you remove the bump stop and its bracket. I still have 4" of travel between frame and axle.

Question...has anyone else noticed that the rear shocks upper mount locations are in different locations? This gives the passengers side shock extra compression & rebound stroke...compared to the drivers side . 76 Chevy C10 Shortbed 2 wh dr

It does but most trucks are made this way, one forward one aft. I don't think it is enough difference to worry about or they wouldn't have done it.

along the same lines as above. my truck had to have the shock hole area cut out & redone. i made the mistake?? of copying the hole from the other side, now the shock is not placed right and appears to be higher on that side... AARRGG! I am now trying to find (get) the correct shock hole location so i can redo it & hopefully fix the height difference. soooo...if any one has the measurements for the pass. side upper shock hole location on the top of their head it would be greatly appreciated... LOL!!!
