Ok, so heard something that had me spooked a bit today. Took a turn on an incline and heard a bang like something threw a baseball into the side of the truck bed. Pulled over and found one of the rear supports between the frame rails was broken, assuming that was the noise I had heard. Quick question for you guys, looking for a replacement whether it's from AMD or whoever but need some help in identifying it. It's the piece in this pic from another truck. How integral is that to the rails and support on the rear of the truck and again, any places to outsource this from outside of a local scrapyard because these girls are getting rare up here, thanks!

That cross member is for the under mount spare tire. My 76 is a factory bed mounted spare and does not have one. My 79 has the spare underneath and has it.

Now if you are missing the cross member behind that, that in my book would be an issue. I don't see why they wouldn't interchange, but to note, the 70s trucks lack those speed holes in the cross members.

Yeah, figured it was the spare tire hanger because of the location of the hole in the center of it. And it does have that rear crossmember there, that's where my ground got tied into for the bed because we all know how awesome the grounding system on these trucks are lol. Apppreciate it bud
