Rear end identification?

try looking for 2 numbers stamped into the ring gear. Mine is 41:11 which equals a 3.73 gear ratio

You can count the Teeth in the pic and times it by two....I'm guessing I was looking at wrong gear

Yeah you can't see the pinion gear without taking the rear end part away apart and multiplying the gears by 2 only works with an even ring gear number. I would just jack up the rear end and put the transmission in neutral and just rotate thing ring gear looking for the numbers stamped into it.

Another question...while under there...I saw a vaccum hose in the rear end but it was plugged off with a bolt .... I know that's night right...should it be going somewhere or open ended

Its the breather tube for the rear end. if left pugged it will blow out your end seals if it hasn't already. They are supposed to have a one way breather valve on them to allow pressure out while keeping junk and stuff from entering the rear end
