Will a rear end from a 1990 1500 be a direct swap to an 86 C10? Friend of mine totaled his truck and it has a 3:73 post in it with about 200k. Truck has like 400k on it and a 5 spd. Says I can have what I want but is it worth it? Everything but the drive train is scrap.

Spring perches and shock mounts will need to be moved.

Gmt400 trucks have two different axle widths, 2wd is about 3” narrower than a 4wd. The wider 4wd axle width is perfect to match the front track width of a squarebody to get it basically the same front to rear.
