So my truck is at paint and body and I found this push bar accepting the dudes word that it was for a 81-87 Chevy . Can anybody tell me what the inner bolt spacing is on the front bumper ? Now that I got this home it seems far apart

They should bolt straight to the bumper bolts then to the side of the frame.

Got a side profile shot? Looks it might be for a '78-'95 van. They have the same bumper stamping as '73-'80 truck bumpers, but with a wider bolt spacing.

You can tell if ifs for your age truck by looking at the shape of the bumper cut out. Itll be pretty noticable if it is or isn't.
And yeah, Some required drilling new holes, which I dont like. Most though would line up with the bumper bolts.

I noticed that too, it's odd.
Had one on my 86 when I bought it, but I thought it looked funny so I took it off.
Found out it was for a 90s Chevy, that's why it looked funny. Put it on my 92 burb instead, now it looks correct.

Voted no, this "renewed interest" is only the remnants of new owners incessant desire to "accessorize" :imo:

They bought a 40 year old truck and want to make it cool.

Uhhhhh

I was wanting one but I ended up having a center piece off one of the warn winch bumbers. The end pieces were those stamped sheet metal pieces that got bent up but since the center is straight I am just going to build off it and use some chassis tubing and plate to make it modular to some degree. I figure that way if I wipe out one side I can just rebuild that side.

I wish you liked to be the Fbody brake spring guinea pig dude between the two of us...
Lol, I'm trying. If I get the car running and driving again within 6 months of this past Independence Day, my brother has to grow a mullet.
